Dear Conference attendee:
Thank you for registering for the 16th WWU Children’s Literature Conference. On Saturday, February 23, 2019, you will join hundreds of other participants on Western’s campus for this exciting event. We are eager to share this day with you.
Location: All events except lunch will be held in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). This is building #16 on the campus map. Registration, coffee/tea and pastries, book sales, and autographing will be in the PAC entrance and adjacent lobbies from 8:00 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. Presentations will take place in the Concert Hall with our first speaker beginning at 9 a.m.
Parking: Free parking is available in the “12A” and all “C” lots, off of South College Drive. There will be a shuttle running continuously from 7:15 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. and then again from 3:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. to transport you to/from the C lots in the morning and at the end of the day. For directions to these parking lots, enter campus from Bill McDonald Parkway and follow the signs to the shuttle pick-up area. Parking in the “G” lots (11G, 14G, 15G, 17G, and 8G) is available, but limited. Cost is $2.00 per hour at the Pay Stations or through the Parkmobile app. All of these parking lots are on the campus map . Additional limited (free) roadside parking may be available on Garden, North Forest, and State streets.
Lunch: Boxed lunch pick-up will take place just outside of the PAC’s main entry. Your nametag will have an initial in the bottom corner indicating what sandwich you signed up for during registration (T-Turkey, H-Ham, V-Veggie, * – Special Order). Seating and water stations will be provided in the buildings closest to the conference. Maps and signage will be provided at the conference to help you get to a warm and comfortable lunch area.
Connections: If you’re not already familiar with our website (www.wwuclc.com), you may want to check it out for information about our speakers, for clock hour specifics, for information about nErDcamp on Sunday the 24th and, if you’re traveling from outside Bellingham, for hotel recommendations.
